Magnitude 4.6 earthquake hits Southeast Alaska

The USGS reports an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.6 hit 9 miles Southeast of Skagway, Alaska, near the Canadian border at 8:42pm Thursday at a depth of 9 miles. The quake was felt as moderate shaking in Haines and Skagway, and as minor shaking in the state capital Juneau 85 miles away, and in Whitehorse, Canada 88 miles away. The West Coast & Alaska Tsunami Warning Center said there was no danger of a tsunami.
